Introduction

This website is designed for Amnesty International (which thrives on pro bono work) and for Massey University design students (who thrive on real-life experience).

At the top of this page there is a link to "What Amnesty Needs" and "What Students Have Done." Follow these links to find the latest contributions to the site.

At the top of the page you will also find links to different human rights themes. From here you can stay on this site, and look for recent submissions on each theme. Or you can go to other sites to find out more about Amnesty International's work on those themes, from the Ireppressible campaign to the Make Some Noise program.

Feel free to comment on any of the submissions you find interesting or inspiring or puzzling. Just click on the link at the bottom of the submission (the "0 Comments" link if noone has commented, or the "1 comment" link, etc.)

Amnesty International cannot guarantee that your work will be used in an Amnesty campaign. But submitting work to this site is the best way to get the attention of Amnesty's nationwide activist network. And in the age of the internet, the are more opportunities than ever for us to feature your work in an electronic form.

Submitting work is easy. Just send us an email to express your interest, and we will give you the chance to upload work to this site whenever you like.

Because this website is open to the public, Amnesty and Massey cannot guarantee that it will not be used by others without your permission. But human rights activists are an honest bunch. And we can guarantee that we will consult students before using their work.

If you do wish to make your work available to Amnesty International, but do not want to make it publicly accessible on this site, that's fine. Just send it along to studyaction@gmail.com.

Or, if you do not have any work to submit right now, but do want to make your skills available for Amnesty in the future, that's fine too. Just email us with some contact information (an email address will do).

Thanks for visiting, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Irrepressible Posters

Below are a series of poster ideas for Amnesty's upcoming "Irrepressible" campaign.

The posters point out the striking difference between those who have internet freedom and those who do not.

Irrepressible Posters

Amnesty International is seeking a skilled designer to work on an upcoming campaign. The campaign is about internet repression, and Amnesty needs someone to plan and implement a week-long advertising campaign.

More information about the worldwide irrepressible.info campaign can be found over here. Amnesty's upcoming campaign will focus on internet blogging: we will use existing bloggers to help out bloggers who are experiencing persecution in other countries. We are looking for a series of posters, with images and text, to promote this campaign. The test should include:

The timespan of the campaign (the first two weeks of September 2007).
The location of the campaign (we will target mainly New Zealand bloggers)
The main theme of the campaign ie. internet repression of bloggers.
The poster should emphasise the disparity between those who are free to express their views on blogs, and those who cannot.

We would like to get submissions by July 15th, so we can select one of them by July 20th.
